Default Help with HTC Touch Diamond

It connects itself to the network and downloads data by itself, it is costing me a fortune.

Here is what I have tried

1. The only thing I can see that would do this is the Weather screen, so I selected the option not to download. This has stopped as I can see by the date of the last update.

However it is still doing it.

2. I then did a bit of surfing and downloaded "NoData.dat", I installed this and disabled all data connections.

However it seems to be able to override this. I know it is working because I cannot connect to the internet or use email until I go in and set to enable. I then manually disconnect the GPRS connection and disable the data connections again.

What can I do to stop it connecting and spending my money?

Do you know what programs are downloading?

Press start - settings - system

Then select the running programs tab. This should give you an idea of whats downloading data.

I dont know what comes up as it does it when I am not there. I dont mean it waits for me to leave it alone, but I would not know if it wasnt for the charges. There is no visual signs of what has been downloaded.

Could it be internet explorer or anything like that? Do you have the key lock on when its in your pocket?

have you tried this?
HTC - Touch Phone, PDA Phone, Smartphone, Mobile Computer

There are also some updates on the HTC site.
HTC - Touch Phone, PDA Phone, Smartphone, Mobile Computer
I would get in touch with them to see if they would make any difference.

It looks like that has worked, it has not spent a penny without my permission since I changed this setting, and I left it on its own all night

Cheers mate
