Default Orange SVP M1000 GPRS Problem

Hi,

I have just bought an Orange SVP M1000 pda/phone (rebranded XDA2) and can not connect to GPRS. I have been through the settings with Orange but when I attempt to connect I get the error message "unable to locate modem at above connection". I have had a call logged with Orange technical support for over a week but they seem stumped. Anybody got any thoughts/advice.

Cheers,

Paul

Paul,
I've just got an unlocked (sim-free) xda2, which is the same as the spv m1000, the i-mate and the qtek 2020.
The best place i've found to set the phone up is http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...?p=52216#52216 .
This gives an indepth, step-by-step guide for the xda2 connections on orange and i hope that they'll be suitable for your spv m1000.
Good luck
Pete

Paul, I got my M1000 at the weekend from an Orange shop and everything was fully setup on mine.

If you've not got yours sorted now then let me know and I'll make a note of the settings on mine for you. Certainly a quick browse through suggests the only thing you need to enter is orangeinternet. Everything else is default.

I had a similar problem with my M1000 when I first bought it.
The solution for me was to do a soft reset by pressing the stylus into the Reset button on the lower left corner of the device.
I suspect you have already been told this by Orange when you called. But, if not I hope this helps.
