Unhappy no traffic via 2210/6310i GPRS

I have been unable to get any traffic to go through my GPRS connection to vodafone using my 2210 and Nokia 6310i.

I have done all the settings and do get a GPRS connection but no data goes across the link. The problem is that I have in the past had this working but since my PDA was replaced, I have been unable to recreate it.

can anyone help?

current settings are:
Number: *99#
username/password: web/web
Baud Rate: 115200
Wait for dial tone: no
dial string: +cgdcont=1,"ip","internet"

I think the number needs to be *99***1#, is on mine anyway.

Well I got fed up with mine being so unstable with the same configuration as above, so I didnt bother subscribing after the free period.

If it becomes more stable, accurate and a bit nearer real time I may consider it in the future but its a bit of a joke paying for it in its current state. I just use O2 traffic and travel (1200)

Well, I did a hard reset and then re-entered the above configuration and it now works.

There must be something else that I changed in another area of Settings that caused some sort of conflict. It works and I'm happy but haven't a clue what was wrong in the first place.

Diagnosis into why things don't work on PDAs seems a bit of a mystery so if anyone out there knows how to investigate comms/data issues on IPaqs, I would love to know.
