Default tomtom traffic / gprs help please

Hi. I have a ipaq 2210 and a sony T610 alnog with wired tomtom 3. I wish to take advantage of the subscription offer for traffic. I have set up my phone as per the instructions from o2 and also your guy Steve but, I know that this may sound like a stupid question, do I need a dial up internet account. The reason that I ask is that my ipaq keeps requesting password, username and domain information. Can you help? Thanks Johnny
