ipaq 1945 and Samsung D500 GPRS Recently bought the Samsung D500 to use as a GPRS modem for my ipaq 1945 PDA. Followed all the instructions from the orange site (used *99# for the connection no., included the connection string ' "+cgdont=1","IP","orangeinternet" ' in the advanced tab, etc). In the setup I have allowed the Ipaq to use the d500 as a modem.
After setting up the connections the following occurs:
(1)PDA: In the BT dialup connection page, select connection to use
(2)PDA: BT dial-up 'Making Connection message' appears
(3)D500: Message appears: 'DUN connect with pda_name? (Y/N). Select Y. D500 then returns to front page with no further action
(4)PDA: 'Connection established' message appears
(5)PDA: 'Connecting to: Orange GPRS using BT Dialup Modem' message appears (Orange GPRS being the named connection in the PDA)
At this stage the PDA just hangs attempting to connect - without success.
I'm wondering if anything should be set under the BT Settings - Proxy Settings other than ticking 'This network connects to the internet' ? For instance, there is also a 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet' and in the Advanced section there are HTTP server and port settings, Wap server and port settings, etc. Can't figure it out. Any known issues, patches, upgrades?
