blue tooth gps marine chart plotter kit for lap top

Hi I have a gps that seem to work all but the boat that show wear you are it use to show red and move , my active pilot flash blue all the time and the green cross battery is on i presume the other is charge light.
I have little imformation on this how to recharge wether a 12 volt in my boat or in my home do the batterys have to be changed in the active pilot, Is there a more detail instructions on this gps, Do i have to activate the small boat to get it to work ?.
