Default Hardwire GPS receiver

Hi folks. I have a Leadtek wired GPS receiver for my PDA sat nav which I power with the supplied dual 12v cigarette lighter and PDA link thingummy. I'm wondering if there is a way I could wire it into my cars power so it is permanently active, whether the PDA is mounted or not, so that I never lose signal and have to wait for cold start up. I want to make a permanent job and eliminate the wire trail, but I obviously still need to connect the receiver to the PDA. Any suggestions?
Cheers

You simply need a 12v supply.

All depends on whether the cigarette plug has any components inside or is simply a plug.

Easiest way if you're not confident is to try your local halfords install centre or the yellow pages for auto-electrician. for a small fee, they should be able to sort you out.
