Red face HELP XDA2i/Wired Holux GR-212/TomTom 5

Have not been able to get receiver to work properly with my XDAlli. The gps viewer software on loading gives a warning that the GPS viewer may not display properly as only compatible with earlier windows version.(I have Windows Mobile 2003 Ver 4.21.1088(build 14235.2.0.0) When you scan to check out ports and to recognise GPS it recognises GPS on Com 1 at 4800 baud. When you turn on GPS via gps viewer it displays position and time at instant on switching on but then position info/speed/direction/time freezes. The info stream from the GPS can be seen to be coming down all the time. Tried cold start - no success. Conecting to TOM TOM 5 is therefore impossible as it shows no GPS signal. I have reboted from scratch/reloaded software/ tried to get updated software from Holux website but it is same version as on CD supplied. Has anyone any suggestions where I go from here !!!!!!

UPDATE ---- FOUND SOLUTION TODAY 8/9/05

With the XDA2i and with the Holux GR212 if you load Holux’s GPS viewer even when you close it down it is still in the background and seems to block COM 1. To fix this you should go into systems/memory/running programs and stop GPS Viewer. The better solution is not to load GPS viewer at all and when you go into TOM TOM then just configure Other cable NMEA GPS at 4800 baud rate and select Serial cable on Com 1.
Hey presto it all works.

Hope this helps other frustrated new owners.
