Question Holux GPSlim 236 and hp2210 (pocketpc 2003)

Have bought Holux GPSlim 236 receiver and am trying to partner with hp ipaq 2210. (originally Pocket PC 2003 Premium operating system)

Partnering seems to go well enough, but I cannot get the pda to pick up the GPS signal with the supplied Holux GPS Viewer software. (creates an outgoing slave connection, but no incoming connection)

Have updated the ROM (now pocket pc version 4.20.0) on the pda as advised on the Holux and HP website.

The connection process for the bluetooth receiver under this ipaq operating system does not seem to allow the level of com port identification and connection options noted in some of the other threads.

Is there a basis incompatibility between holux GPSlim 236 and this age of pda that requires a considerable amount of tech knowledge to workround?

I was concerned that the age of the pda would give me connection problems, so want to get a working connection in place before investing in GPS software.

Will it help to take the plunge and get the GPS software and maps to make this work, or would I be wasting my money trying to make old and new technology work together.

any advise on best GPS mapping software for this set-up would be appreciated?

Any comments would be gratefully received.

If you haven't loaded the 5.21 patch, download it from http://tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=3361

I have sold people with a 2210 the holux before and there have been no issues. Where did you get the holux from?
