Default More 214 / TT6 problems .. Help Pls

I've sorted out the backlight problems on my 214 running TT6 but now I've a new problem.
TT recognizes my CF card GPS reciever and will find my location quickly, however on setting a route and moving off it doesn't track me, so the map stays still ?
on tapping the screen and then returning to ths route the gps ha srelocated my position but still stays still when I move.
What's going on here ? It seems that the GPS in continually updating TT ?
Anybody know how to solve this pls ?
Thanks, Simon.

Not heard of this before.

Do you have an SD card you can trying loading the tomtom onto instead of the CF?

Do you have lots of POI's shown on the map?

Your not in Browse map mode are you?

There is an HP ROM update that improves CF transfer rate for the 214.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...135&swLang=118

Make sure you back everything up as this will wipe everything on your PDA so will need to reload all data after the update.

Otherwise try using an SD card.

Default Thx Martin, but ...

Thanks Martin, but I've got the maps on the MicroSD card I bought from you with 214 last week. The CF card I mentioned was reference to the GlobalSat GPS Reciever I use.
I could try the ROM update but I feel it's something more fundamental than that, Could it not be something to do with a conflict between the HP GPS utility and TT ( I'm always suspicious of manufacturer applications that duplicate MS applications and seem to run in parrallel - always pos to conflict surely ? ) ?
Also, I might try just reloading the maps because since I first loaded them I've update TT6 to the TT v6.03, could this be prob ?
I've been using TT5 on my X5 for yrs now and can assure you I'm in the route navigation screen when it freezes, well it doesn't really "freeze" as such as screen is still live, it just doesn't track me continually.

Tomtom has always had issue's with CF GPS cards. I'd definately try the bios update in this case.

Does it track you ok if your're walking down the street or driving slowly?

I know a lot of the older holux CF gps card that we sold originally had problems at anything faster than walking pace. Not sure if this is still the case as we havent sold them for about 3 years.

No, it doesn't track at all at any speed. I've had several CF GPS cards over the years with my X5 and have only really ever been happy with this GlobalSat one, it's always been quick and reliable on the X5 , which is why I bought this new one to go with the 214 ( my wife has commandeered the X5 now ).
After I followed your link to the HP update I realised that I've already got it on my PDA.
Reload the maps tonight methinks.

Do you know anyone with a bluetooth receiver you could test it with to see if that makes any difference?

Well, I've done it all now - hard reset and full reinstall included and still the same problem !
I've emailed TT support but they refuse to play ball because the 214 isn't a supported device !
I've emailed back to ask whether it has been tested and found incompatible or just not yet tested -- no reply to that ? I've also suggested that it'd be very helpful if it's been tested and found incompatible if they listed it as such along with all other devices that they know their software won't work on, also the date of the last update would be informative !
Martin, I'll try a BT GPS asap, you never know it might solve it.
Has anyone on here got TT6 to work properly on a 214 and if so exactly what ahrdware etc are you using ?
thanks Simon.
