Hotel wi-fi

Earlier in the year I was in a hotel that had free wi-fi for guests. No mater how much I tried I could not get my pda to log on to their network. All around me were people successfully connecting their laptops to the internet but I had to give up after many attempts. I was definately using the right password. Next week I will be staying again in a wi-fi enabled hotel. Has anybody got any tips to help me use the internet successfully? Do I need some kind of utility to help me?

Some devices need passwords entered in caps, others will work regardless.

As a rule, I now enter all passwords in uppercase. Remember though SSIDs are case sensitive, and must be correct.
