Default iPAQ 214 Enterprise and memory cards

Hi,

I have an iPAQ 214 Enterprise and have bought a Sandisk SDHC 8Gb card plus a Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash 30Mb/s 4Gb card on the understanding that they were compatible with the iPAQ 214.

I have received an email from HP to say that the largest card a 214 can handle is 1Gb and that if larger cards are used the mchine's may become faulty.

I have had a problem with the machine telling me that a Mobile Word or Mobile Excel file cannot be saved as there is not enough memory (4GB and 8Gb cards in situ!) so may be that is because the machine cannot handle the cards.

Help/advice would be much appreciated.

Was it from ebay, or a reliable source?

There are lots of fake cards out there.

Have you updated the PDA at all?

There's an update that affects data transfer for CF cards on the HP site.
