Default Ipaq 3630 Synchronisation.

I have a Year 2000 Compaq Ipaq 3630 and a laptop that runs Vista Home Premium 32 bit. When I try to run the original ActiveSync3.1 CD that also includes Outlook 2000 which came with the device, in order to communicate with the Ipaq the software is blocked. I am then referred to a software patch on the internet that seems to be for mobile phones that works with devices starting from Year 2003. This patch allows the Ipaq to be seen but when I try to sync the Diary function etc. it says "Outlook not loaded" Does anyone know how this can be overcome either to allow me to load the original software or a workable alternative?
Thanks

You need Mobile device centre for Vista, not activesync

Mobile device centre is the patch I refer to in my original posting, it appears only to be for mobile phones and it has not helped.thanks for your help.

Mobile device centre is for all mobile devices - phones and PDA's. It is the equivalent of activesync in vista.

Remember, you must use the USB cable for your device, and may only have 2 active partnerships on the device.

WMDC needs outlook 2002 or higher.

Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 | Windows Vista Support

You must use Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to sync your e-mail, contacts, tasks, and notes from your computer.
