Ipaq 214 Buttons Hi, I have just got an Ipaq 214 PDA. I had a Mio 168 running WM 2003.
One program I use needs to be running for several hours using the GPS and to conserv battery power I used a screenoff program (which switched off the screen but left the PDA on running the program), disabled ALL the buttons on the front & cancelled the 'wake up' functions (wake up on inserting SD card etc.). This allows the Mio to be carried in a pocket without risk of it 'springing to life' on accidential press of a key.
The 214 will only allow some of the buttons to be disabled or them all locked (with the icon on the today screen) but then the screen is still active (albeit dim and keypresses only illuminate the screen so the unlock feature is viewable).
The Screenoff program works on MW6 but not all the buttons are disabled in the button settings of WM6.
Using the keypad lock locks the buttons but stop me from then running Screenoff.
I can't allocate keypad lock to a button (that would allow me to lock keypad after the screen is switched off.
I would like to be able to use the buttons in other programs but am used to this not being available on the Mio 168 as to shut down the screen was/still is more important than button availability. Ideally what I need is to be able to assign the keypad lock function to a 'long press' button but can't find the EXE(?) file or shortcut to the program. Does anyony know where it is (what it's called) or know of another soloution? |
