hi mike...
baud rate 4500 as stipulated and the default of cf card (it shows the com port as cf card) and thats the one i try to use...

gps program shows it all working...picking up satelites no probs....just tomtom wont see the cf card...although its there to chose in tom toms settings...

With TomTom running and connected to the GPS can you go to the GPS Staus page which is part of the menu structure within the TT Nav application, on this screen there should be some bar graphs and numbers along with the Lat/ Long, top right is a small yellow/ blue wheel, is this stationary or spinning?

A few more questions before I suggest a fix to what I think is wrong with it:

What is the model number of the Deconnex CF Receiver.
What Version of TomTom Navigator are you using.
Do you use the same PDA for Memory Map.

I have a feeling the GPS is set to output data in SiRF mode rather than NMEA but before I tell you how to revert the device back to NMEA I need to know the Deconnex receiver number to make sure it does support SiRF mode! You could send me a PM containing your e-mail address (safer than posting it on the forum) and I can then reply with a Word Document that explains the SiRF to NMEA switch and how to do it - Mike

Hi Steve, perhaps if I post the details in the forum rather than e-mailing them it might be of use to others at some point:

When switching to/ from SiRF mode on your GPS? I use the following method:
Download TTN GPS driver 2,06 by clicking the following link:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/module...=getit&lid=135

Once you have the download on the PC simply unzip it, the single file you are looking for is ttgps206_arm.CAB copy this CAB file to your PDA.

Use File Explorer on the PDA to locate the CAB file and tap it, this will start the installer, just answer Yes to the annoying prompts windows asks.

The application will now be on your PDA, the icon looks like a satellite dish and can be found in the programs section on the PDA.

Start the application and go to the GPS tab (located at the bottom of the screen). Use the Top dropdown box to select the mode you want the GPS to be using, this could be SiRF or NMEA depending upon what you want to switch the data output mode to, make sure you select the correct Baud rate at the same time as the data type.

Make sure the second drop down box is selected to your GPS device, you might find this changes when you select the first dropdown box, so always re-check this.

Click the grey box (Top Left) then go to the Status tab to check you have data.

This method makes it very easy to switch between the two modes, it takes seconds, and better still it costs nothing. Once you have finished the switch make sure you terminate the GPS program before running any other GPS related application. You can use the application to datalog, it cannot alter the SiRF parameters, to alter these will require use of another application.

One final point this GPS application is a standalone application in its own right, it does not alter your existing TTN5 or 6 GPS related driver, I have seen questions before wondering why this doesn't "upgrade" the version 5 GPS driver - the simple answer is that it has nothing to do with TTN5 - Mike

Usning the GPS application you downloaded from my earlier link do you get to see any GPS activity when using that application in either SiRF or NMEA mode? - Mike

ive downloaded it....ive installed it.....its on pda and it works......its not picking up any activity ....
i even ran through different com ports mate....
ive only tried it with the Dconnex....i havent set it up on the bluetooth reciever ive got.....
cheers mate.....if you have more ideas bring them on....i would like to get this working with the pda......its easier than charging the bluetooth gps all the time or making sure the damb thing is charged before you want it.
cheers mate
