Hi - I went through the Ipaq 2210 / Nokia 6230 issue the other week with some of the techie folk at O2, who were very helpful.
Summary was -
You can pair the devices, as long as you install the latest bluetooth patch to the 2210 (available on HPs website). That patch will resolve the issue around the passkey.
You cannot maintain a reliable connection to the web though. It is possible to connect, but after a short time (roughly a few minutes or a few web pages), you will find the connection is ended, and this is the bit that no-one has been able to resolve. I can look out what i used to obtain the connection and what have you if anyone wants it - but it'll only get you on for a few minutes at most.
Every setting going and every modem init string workaround I've seen has been tried to see if that helps, but it seems to be a problem simply with the two devices communications.
I ended up sending back by 6230 (which I liked), and got a K700i instead. As it turns out I now like the K700i anyway (wasn't sure about it in the shops). It does everything the 6230 does, even has a bigger screen, but most importantly - I had it reliably connecting to the Web immediately and has now been working well for a week.
Cheers, Martin. |
