Angry Activesync problems with my H3760

I have recently bought an h3760 and have been having problems syncing with my desk top. I downloaded and installed version 3.7.1 and first time connected no problem. Subsequent times however it doesn't seem to be working. i have tried a number of things, soft/hard resets, re-installing activesync, downloading servicepack2 for windows XP, bought a USB connector to replace my serial cradle but to no avail. Every time it starts as if to connect, says it is connecting then just stops. The connection wizard does the same and having uninstalled and re-installed will not let me connect at all, doesn't show any partnerships, won't let me create one or connect as a guest. I have tried disabling my Mcafee security centre in case that was affecting it and have just run out of ideas. I am starting to wonder whether a PDA was such a good purchase. Any suggestions would be very welcome

Welcome to our forums.
Did you reboot after you disabled McAfee? Are you connecting through a USB hub? How many USB ports are on your PC and how many devices do you connect to them?

I didn't reboot after disabling but I didn't think I would need to although I will try it. Have you ever heard of any issues with using Mcafee and trying to sync?
I think I have 6 USB ports and am only using 1 other for my printer. However I don't think it is anything to do with my USB connection as exactly the same thing happens when I use my serial connection.

McAfee can cause problems with Activesnc. If you search for both on google you will find info on it. I would suspect you would need to reboot after disabling it. Let us know how you get on.

Success at last. After weeks of frustration I have finally managed to sync more than once. You were indeed correct and Mcafee was causing me the problem. All the info I had from the Google search suggested it was the privacy service and just to uninstall that, no joy so I took the drastice action of unistalling the whole package and bingo. Just need to re-install now but I'm just so happy, my PDA has been saved from the bin. thanks for all your help Charlie

Glad to hear it. It seems to that Antivirus is a common problem with Activesync issues so it's best to check them first.
