Default ipaq 2210 Usb Cradle Power Problems

Hi,

I bought the ipaq 2210 bluetooth tomtom 2 navigator kit from Total Pda last week.

and the usb cradle wont charge the pda. the aux/battery light does not come on.
i can charge it if i take it out of the cradle and change the connector, so the power supply is alright. but this is a bit of hassle.

please help.

thanks

Mark.

i have exactly the same problem with my Ipaq 2210. The cradle seems to be only for syncing and not for power.

Guys have you got the ac adapter connect to the back of the 2210 cradle?

Hi,

Does the orange light at the top of your 2210 flash when on the cradle? When my 2210 sits on the cradle the Aux/battery light doesn't light up either but I can tell it's charging because the orange light on the top of the ipaq flashes, then glows solid when fully charged.

If not then, obvious as it seems and sorry to point it out, but it could be that you need to connect the AC adapter!

cheers,
nelly

I think the aux / battery light only comes on when you're charging a spare battery (there's a slot behind the main iPAQ slot to put it in).

The amber light on top left of the iPAQ should flash when charging, and stay on constant when fully charged.

You should check the AC adaptor is connected properly at the back of the cradle - it's a bit confusing, as there's an extra adaptor at the end of the cable from the power pack (I haven't bothered looking to see what it's for).

So you should have both your USB connection to your PC, and the AC adapter permanently connected to the cradle.

If you want any visual clarification, send me a PM with yuor email address, and I'll mail you a digital photo of my cradle setup tonight.

thanks for response... would be interested in your set up and a pic will possibly help. Being a bit of a pain as I have just needed to recharge battery and taken it out of PDA to sit in the back of cradle.

I have the same power problem - with both the ac adapter and the cradle+ac it doesn't charge the battery. Does anyone know where to take PDA's with this kind of hardware problem to be fixed?
