Red face HP2210 Hangs

Hi all - my Ipaq 2210 hangs everytime I use the calendar function. I can browse, add, edit and delete any entries but on closing the calendar it causes the Ipaq to freeze. I then have to do a soft reset. Any entry details altered during the last use are OK and saved.

I have done a hard reset and all functions are Ok including Calendar - however when I perform a restore to populate the records again it starts to hang again. Any Ideas!!!!!

I have downlaoded the last rom and flashed it successfully but the problems persisits - it is very annoying.

Thanks in advance

Chris.

Welcome to our forums.
Maybe there some corrupt data in one of the entries. You could call HP on 0870 842 2339 for advice.

Well after many resets (hard and soft) dowloading calendar+ util (At HP's request), back ups and partial restores!!! from the Ipaq we deduced it must be corrupt data - HP suggested I restore and syncronise with the last 2 weeks and future data only for the appointments (something I didn't know you could do). This appears to have cured the issue.

For those who aren't aware of this setting - it is listed as a setting option in active sync - double click on the relevant database (e.g. calendar) and select the settings required. Hey Presto - I know only time will tell but all seems well at the moment.
Thanks,
Chris

Well - all seemed to be going so well. It's started again so I have now deleted all my previous appointments from Outlook and Re-entered all my recurring events (birthdays etc.) so they are fresh - the problem seemed to have cured itself again however, it has started to play up again.

I have now given up on outlook. I have dowloaded mNotes trial (as Notes is our company standard) and have synced up all my e-mails, contacts, and calendar entries with no issues so far and no hanging of the Ipaq. I can add, delete, reschedule as well as read my e-mails all with no hanging at all. What a great little product - I am currently trying to convince the FC that he should pay for the license for me as it will save him replacing my Franklin inserts every year!!!!!!! We do have 1 or 2 paper driven people in the company but I'm working on it!!!!!!!

Thanks again & hopefully this should be the end to my problems.
Chris.
