Welcome to our forums.
You can get commercial programs like Trafcam or there are detectors such as the Road Angel units. Most people use the free Checkpoint program combined with the safety camera database from pocketgps.co.uk .

Hi

just been looking at pocketgps, the database is to be used with checkpoint, but checkpoint is written for tom tom, so do i need tom tom ? or does checkpoint run as a standalone app ?

Checkpoint is designed to be used with TomTom. Trafcam would probably be best for you although it requires a yearly subscription.
