Default Hp rz1710 tomtom package questions.

First off, has anyone got one of these, and if so what do you think of it. I have tomtom navigator 3 and the HP H2210 and love it, but a mate of mine wants a similar package, but does not want to spend a fortune, so is looking to getting this. Are you able to add things such as checkpoint and speed camera database to it, and other POI's, or is it not able to do this. Also does the software come in CD form like with tomtom3, or is it pre loaded onto the memory card.

Thanks
Stephen

It's basically the same version that runs on the TomTomGO but its running on a PDA so you have all the features of a PDA in addition.
You can add POIs and there is a built in feature to warn you as you approach them so Checkpoint isn't needed (or supported). The software comes pre-loaded on the memory card and also on the CDs for backup.

Thanks very much for that. Am I right in thinking, that this is the newer version of tomtom, and so has some added features, as well as having some things removed. I have tried to find out info on this item, but so far have not had much luck. PC world are useless, and as they are about the only ones around here to peek to, it is not easy getting good info. I think my mate has ordered it from you last night, and it is expected to arrive with in the next few days. Are you able to get the software seperate, and is it the same GPS reciver as the one that come in the tomtom 3 package. I belive post codes are better to find in it as well, although there are post codes available as POI's on other sites. Post codes are handy for me, as i do Airport transfers, and always get the customers post code to use in the sat nav, if i am not familier with where they live. Thanks for your help so far.

Have a look @ http://www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk/tomt...or-2004-na.php .
Although it's for the American Navigator 2004 it's the same software on the HP navigation pack. There are comparisons at the bottom of the page which show what is/isn't included in this newer version.

Currently it's not available seperatley.

Angry

Thought you might like to know this

The reason of the cut-down is the internal memory on a hp rz1710.
We do not have any updates to make features as traffic camera database and postal code possible.
The only reason why the 1710 navigation is a cut down version is because 1710 is a very
limited PDA and TomTom produced a version especially for 1710.
With best regards,
TomTom support team
