Default 4150 Battery Life

Mundane question....when my IPAQ says that the battery is getting low etc...complete with warnings about losing data, do I really have to worry at that stage, or does it actually default to the backup battery ?...(I don't like to run it down completely...just in case!)

Best to check the battery level inthe POWER section to be sure as it depends on what standby level you have it set to.

Don't let it completely run flat, mine lost all it's data the only time I let mine do that and I had to load everything back onto it....It's a good idea to back-up onto your pc every so often just in case....I do this about once a month as I don't load a huge amount onto it.

Looks like good news. I just rang HP as they hadn't phned me back, started talking to one of the operatives when my PPC suddenly turned itself on without me doing anything but it only lasted a few seconds. He advised me to put it back on charge for eight hours which I have now done, soon as I plugged it in the charge light came on and I was able to switch the PPC on and the screen lit up. Shame that never happened earlier today, I might sorted it all out by now. Thanks for your help Charlie, you helped a bit. :-)

The backup battery only provides power to maintain the contents of the memory, not for powering the unit.
