Hi again Sveinb...
I have managed to inadvertently set up a couple of alarms which then activate the IPAQ... as they were a mistake and i didn't at first realise they were there, it took a while to track down the date they were attached to and so they were sort of hidden... I wonder if you might have done the same? Once you've worked out the search functions, maybe you can do a wildcard search for any alarm/task/note etc that may be turning the IPAQ on and off?

Hi Gadget Freak
Thanks yours. it could be, but doubt it as i dont use many alarms (hate alarms in general - they tend to wake me up..) However, surprisingly when I now have learned to turn activesync off manually after each sync, the 'battery drain' seems to be very small, indicating that the machine does not turn itself on/off, also as the password comes on (set at 90 min or sometimes 2 hrs) also indicates that it does not turn on.
But I have no idea why (if) activesync 3.7.1 would do that.
i'm keeping a weary eye on it.
Thanks again
Svein

Hi Sveinb
am on the scrounge... HOW DO you turn off activesync manually after sync?? Mine seems to turn itself off at will but often not for hours! Then I have real probs when i try to re-sync... It minimises and just sits there, telling me that there are x minutes to go but not doing anything else; it's driving me mad and the only way I've found round it is to sync each item separately... I know about using the 'close this task' option... but activesync doesn't (close that is)!! Any help gratefully received
Am stumped re your on/off prob.. sorry! GF

Hi GadgetFreak,
I've used various programs that will do a proper 'close', used 'program bar' for a while but it seems to interfere elsewhere and create lock-ups resulting in resets - the one i use now is 'handyswitcher 2.0' - it gives you an icon in topbar (or bottom if you prefer) and then you can click on the icon, popup will give you all progs running, you can switch to/minimize/open etc, very similar to the 'I-task' if you have that one on yours (its the rightmost hardware button on my 4350) - only b*****d it cant close is some of the background progs in HandBase 3.0 - grrr. to turn off activesync is a doddle this way. Think I got it from Handango but its made by 'dinarsoft' - a Canadian company.
Worth a trial. I'm not sure since sometime since i installed, but i 'think' it also turns the 'x' in any prog to a proper 'close' button if you set it right. it seems to work on mine.
Rgds Svein
