Ipaq 3970 and CD cards Help :O(

I have got a IPAQ 3970, and have inserted a 512Mb SD memory card in it. I started doing the reset thing, but the Ipaq still does not recoginise it. I have looked at the compaq website, they recognise there is a problem with SD card recognision, and i downloaded a piece of softt ware to resolve the problem which did not work. I have been at it all day and all night to no avail, and am now considering a option if hurling the ipaq out of the window.
Has anyone got the same problem??? could you help??? if so, i will eternaly in you debt and will be happy to grant you 3 wishes (conditions apply, see instore for details hehehe)

Was it a ROM update you got to solve the problem?

Problems still not sorted, I have spent 60 mins on phone to compaq and after much fustration they have said it needs to be repaired. The trouble is, i have down loaded the ROM update from compaq, which fails saying it does not recognise my 3970 as being a 3900 series. And the SD card update from compaq dont work, cause the ROM needs updating first. Looks like I am gonna have to get it sent away. Its the last time i buy something like this from ebay!

Those are the risks you take. You should get it back from HP within a week. Hopefully it'll be fixed.
