Ipaq 6430 and pc syn problems

i am having trouble getting my h6340 to sync with my laptop and/or work pc.
although my old h5550 did sync with both at one time, latterly it did nt. As my h6340 will sync with my partners laptop is it the settings on my computers that need updating? if so how? i have tried uninstalling active sync and reinstalling but this has nt worked.

any advice greatly appreciated

If you have installed antivirus or firewall softeware on the PC's then that could be blocking your connection.
