Question iPAQ hc2410 Internet access via Bluetooth help required...

I have a new HP iPAQ hx2410, a Motorola V600 mobile phone on O2 Online 200 tariff.

I have visited the O2 website to see how to use the phone to connect to the Internet when I am out and about. The problem is there are only two relevant guides. One is connecting an iPAQ to a 6310i GPRS via Bluetooth and the other is a Pocket PC GPRS User guide. Links below:

http://web.o2.ie/personal/help/conne...ernet/ipaq.jsp
http://web.o2.ie/personal/help/conne...ket_pc/web.jsp

The Pocket PC GPRS User guide assumes an IR Link for the modem. The V600 does not have such a link. So I tried to follow the iPAQ to a 6310i GPRS via Bluetooth guide but it seems that the software has changed in the iPAQ since the guide was written. So I had to wing it based on settings mentioned and using the manual.

Here are the steps I have followed:

Switch on the Bluetooth on the V600.

On the iPAQ:

Selected “Start”, ”Settings”, ”Connections tab”

Selected “Bluetooth”, “Turn On”

Selected “Connections” icon.

Changed Connection Name to “My V600”

Changed Select a Modem to “Bluetooth Dialup Modem”

Selected “Next”

Entered Phone number as “*99#”

Selected “Next”

Set User Name to “gprs”

Set Password to “gprs”

Selected “Advanced”

Set Extra dial-string to “at+cgdcont=1,"IP","open.internet"

Selected Servers tab and selected specific server address.

Set DNS to 62.40.32.33

Set Alt DNS to 62.40.32.34

(All other pages and settings as default).

Selected “ok”

Selected “Finish”

Selected Wireless thingy in the bottom right hand corner then Bluetooth Manager Button.

Selected “New”

Selected “Connect to Internet via Phone”

Selected “Next” (phone not listed).

Selected “Next”

My phone was found so I selected it.

Entered a Pass key of “1111”

V600:

Bond with Pocket_PC displayed, I selected yes and entered the key (1111).

I then get (on the iPAQ) Service discovery was unsuccessful. Details: “An error occurred while attempting service discovery. Please make sure the remote device is turned on, Bluetooth is enabled and the device is discoverable and try again.”

I have also tried selecting “Find Me” on the phone right after entering the pass key, but I got the same results.

I can use GPRS to browse the net on the phone, but I cannot get it to connect to my iPAQ.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
