Question Faulty SD Card Reader?

I have an iPAQ 3970, which has been reading SD cards happily until recently. Following a recent straightforward PDA<->PC file transfer session, I'm now unable to read that card and any previously-readable SD card on my iPAQ. All of the cards are readable on other devices, e.g. multicard reader, plus digital (stills & video) cameras.

I can't think of anything physical that has happened to have caused this, but it does seem to be a common issue according to other iPAQ online forums. Does anyone know why this problem occurs and the most cost-effective method of repairing it?

Cheers

p.s. Soft and hard resets, plus restoring PPC 2002 with the HP SP24963 update or PPC 2003 upgrades make no difference.

Welcome to our forums.
Could be a simple as dirty/dusty contacts in the SD card slot. The 3970 is an old model so could have accumulated a fair bit. Try blowing in the slot to free any debri that could be causing a problem.
