I am just thinking about buying hx4700 but have a question. Does anyone know if it has integrated GPS receiver or do I have to buy something separately??? As some cheaper ipaqs have this integrated . If it does not have the receiver integrated what type of receiver would be the best and how much would it probably cost???
Hi there,
I'm new here as well, but just got an ipaq hx4700 and just love it to bits.
To answer you're first question - no it doesn't have built in GPS so you will have to buy something separately. It does have bluetooth, so you have the choice of wired or bluetooth for your connection.
As for what the best GPS receiver is - I have no idea. I have a receiver that came with TomTom navigator 3 that I am using. I'd be interested to hear other peoples opinions on the "best" GPS receiver as I have a friend looking for one as well.
thanks for getting back to me. What is there special/new in hx4700??? Or what made you to buy this one? I have seen for example Acer N35 GPS that costs approx GBP 240.00 and comes with integrated GPS.
This is supposed to be my first PDA so sorry for silly questions.
Yeap
I've overlooked that that Acer doesn't have anything else except GPS (no WiFi or Bluetooth)
I have had a look on e-bay and it is actually not that expensive to by compact flash GPS receiver which can also be connected to laptop so I will go for HP hx4700 - can't wait
