iPAQ hx2110 - screen "frozen"

Contrary to my previous post (music on iPAQ), I am now not getting on at all well with my handheld!!

The screen on my PDA appears to be frozen; although I can use the buttons to navigate, I cannot make any inputs via the screen. I have tried a soft reset, but am loathed to do another hard reset unless I really have to.

Is it possible that I have "disabled" inputs with the stylus? It does work sometimes, but I can see no logical explanation as to when it works and when it doesn't.
