Can't restore 2210 backup??? I am trying to restore (via Active Sync) my IPAQ 2210 but the reset screen seems to lock up?
After completing the restore function as per instructions I have disconected the IPAQ and attempted a soft restore, however, the screen just freezes when the sliding bar reaches the end.
I have scoured the web / this forum for solutions and a common linking theme is a potential conflict with Tom Tom Blue Tooth driver (ttbtdev.dll) - I have downloaded a registry editor and reviewed:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial8
as instructed, but have discovered that my registry file already seems to have BTCEIF.dll in place and not ttbtdev.dll, and yet I still can't perform a successful restore?
The reason for wanting to restore my IPAQ is that I had Tom Tom 3 installed originally but installed Tom Tom 2 over the top so I could activate the software. My plan was then to restore the Ipaq back to where it was - now I'm at a loss as to what to do and don't want to have to re-install all my software again from scratch unless I absolutely have to...
I can return the IPAQ to its factory settings via a hard reset no problems, so I can get past the 'freezing' problem it's just that I don't want to have to re-install everything and need to know how to avoid this problem in future.
Any ideas? |
