Which IPAQ? I'm looking around to upgrade my aging Tungsten T, i've settled on one of two different models from HP now and i'm not really sure which one would be best suited - what are your thoughts?
HP hx2750 - Plenty of memory, blazingly fast according to some reviews; faster than the 4700 in 99% of cases - seriously so in graphics terms, only has a QVGA screen (not sure that's a problem though), smaller of the two.
HP hx4700 - Not as much memory, not as much performance, looks like better battery life (not sure how much in practical terms), full VGA screen, slightly larger.
What do you all recommend and why? Have I missed another option?
My usage of the PDA will probably be fairly basic but I want the capacity to expand, so, short term usage will be at least:
Wifi internet access for email and browsing.
All the usual calendar/pim type stuff.
Later I might want to try out some games on it so the high graphics performance of the 2750 is attractive, but battery life would probably be more important. I have a TOMTOM unit already, so no plans to run GPS on it.
Memory, I plan on putting at least a 2gb CF card in to it so not overly fussed what it's got on board, unless you think there's a reason I should be of course!
I also do a lot of software development, primarily in J2ME - are there any JVM's for these PDA's? What kind of .NET Framework support does it have - do you need to develop for the .NET Compact Framework?
All help and suggestions greatly appreciated!
