Help please

I don't if this is a stupid question but is it possible to map a drive letter to your mobile device in My Computer. The reason I ask is because for some unknown reason my memory card has decided to erase all the data i had on it including some photos i deperately need. I have used recover my files on the card itself but i am trying to scan my ipaq 3715 to look for some missing photos but the program is looking for drive letters. Hope this makes sense or if anyone knows of a file rescue program designed to run on ipaq can you let me know. Also the sd card itself is 1 gig, has nothing on it now, but only shows as 970mb in explorer is this correct.
