Compaq H3630 CF card install problem

Hi i'm new to PDA's so bear with me please.

I have recently got a Ipaq H3630. I wanted to increase the memory so i have bought a CF expansion pack and a crucial 256mb type 1 compactflash card.

When i insert the Ipaq into the expansion pack it registers and installs. But when i insert the CF card into the expansion pack nothing happens at all, the Ipaq doesn't even register i've inserted anything.
The CF card works ok because i have tried it on my PC and it is ok, tried formatting it on the PC incase that helped but no such luck!

Do i need to install any drivers onto the Ipaq?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
