Default HP 2210 Re-setting Itself

I have a HP 2210 which keeps re-setting itself. When it re-sets itself it wipes off all the programmes I have loaded onto it (i.e. Tomtom 3). MS programmes such as Word and Excel remain on the PDA though. It comes up with the screen asking me to align the screen by clicking in the highlighted corners.

Initially I thought it was the battery running low and wiping the memory. However, yesterday I was using Tomtom 3 and took the PDA out of its cradle when I was out of the car for 15 minutes. When I returned to the car the PDA had wiped itself again. I checked the battery power and it was fine.

Any idea what is causing this ?

I've heard of problems like this with TomTom but with V5. The advice there has been to update to v5.21 which apparetly cures some problems.
Also have you updated the BIOS of your 2210 to v1.1. If you do a soft reset there is a number in the bottom right of the screen when you get the HP screen which tells you which version.
You can download the BIOS update from the HP website http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi.../105_5721.html
You need to do a backup though as it clears everything and puts it back to factory settings.
Hope this helps

Also check the battery locks on the unit, if there not locked into position properly it can cause this problem
