WiFi overridden by GPRS

I just got a HP6315...... I use a Linksys wireless network at home..... Today I was at the library and had the phone cut off... but the WiFi feature worked perfectly.....
At home tonight I tried to access the net using WiFi.... After I could 'hit' the sign-on button... I kept getting a message that said 'Cannot Connect....Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present."
This message comes up if the phone is set to off......If I leave the phone on..then the GPRS connects but not the WiFi...Therefore... the speed is very slow.
Help.....
