Question What to buy?

This is my first thread.
I have just had a bad experience buying a refurbished IPAQ 4700 from HP Direct through Ebay; the DOA machine has now been returned.
Should I continue down the 4700 road or is there a better pda on the market at around the same price?

The 4700 is still one of the highest spec PDA's around. The machines to it would either be the HP 2790 or Dell X50v. We can get you eityher new or refurbished depending on what you prefer.

Default Thank you Martin ...

... but having read through quite a few messages there is still a massive debate over Palm or Pocket PC? Is it down to build quality etc?

The Palm TX seems a good machine; does it and Palm OS compare favourably with the 4700?

Its like MAC v Windows everyone has a favourite just depends what you are used to. The new Windows mobile 5 has copied the best features from the Palm OS. The Tx and the lifedrive are both very good PDA's and the build quality is excellent on all our machines.

It would basically come down to what features you want and how much much you want to spend because all the PDA's we have mentioned so far are designed to do the same sort of jobs i.e. organiser, office docs, contacts. etc.

Default Thank you

One final question on this front ... what would you personally buy with a max spend of £300?

Keith.

A 2490 and a memory card.

Although in saying that if you look at some of the new deals we have with PDA/phones and contracts you save a lot of money on some really good PDA's.

Although I would say this would depend on you being near the end of your current phone contract. I have had this sort of setup myself for the past year and its been nothing short of excellent.

If you just want a PDA then the 2490 would be the one I would go for.
