Default New User Cant connect to Demon ISP

i have a new Ipaq 2750 and a mobile with vodafone and its a sony ericsson model v600i but i cant get any sense out of Demon who supply my home office broadband other than to use the demon broadband companion. this is the straight forward dial number but cannot get the pda to dial it up on the mobile.

i want to connect to demon using my phone mobile as the bluetooth modem and use the PDA as the handheld to receive email from my existing Demon account.
nigel@blanchard.demon.co.uk?

really appreciate some help on setting up the PDA and i have them paired ok ??
I can get the phone to handshake manually with demon as u can hear it going thru the modem handshake screech noises but have tried with the bluetooth manager.

there was also something else i tried and that was the vodafone connectme but cannot get that to work ?

i also put on Windows mobile version 5 but may go back to old system.

nice to hear from anyone who can talk me thru this or send me idiot proof instructions?

nigel

Hi

I paired the phone to my pda with the connect to internet via phone option, it then sets it up for dial-up networking.

in setting/connections click connections icon and choose add a new modem connection enter a name and choose in modem option bluetooth dialup modem
enter the phone number your mobile needs to dial for your demon account (because i am on broadband i had to setup a pay as you go account with virgin, but you could use any internet provider you like)

then enter the username and password you need to use to log into your demon account (or if you have had to setup a payg the details from that one)

now when you open internet explorer, or your email client and want the internet
turn bluetooh on on your pda, and phone of course, click a link or send&recieve in email and the pda will connect automatically through the mobile.

If like me you are on broadband as mentioned you will have to signup for a new internet dialup account to get the phone to act as a modem as a modem needs a number to dial. but i presume you already know this but i added it as someone else might not realise.

By the way i use profi mail for email as it reads html email and works very well.

hope this helps
