Unhappy HP Jornada 928 screen alignment

Hi Chaps

Bought a Jornada to convert into a satnav for my dad but when i align the screen and go to the virtual keyboard i can't seem to get the backspace key (right side of screen) to work

This also affects the scroll bar on the right side of the screen

I have tried aligning about 5 times and still no cigar

I have read about Screen protectors and how they can help on other models and to be honest this screen looks WAY to clean to have had any long use and i am wondering if it's had a replacement hence not working propperly OR has it not got one at all

How do i go about telling it it has a protector on as it looks like a normal screen to me.

Also has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the fix

I have had one of these before as MY fist satnav and it was FAB i never had problems like this (any at all) with my old one but sold to move up to an XDAII

Any helpful info would be appreciated

Zeb

Check that the screen protector only covers the screen, and does not slip under the PDA body/screen gap - as this can cause issues.

Some devices have quite a large gap between body and screen, and dirt can accumulate and affect the touch screen. Use a business card, and carefully slide between screen and body, and you may find some fluff or debris is removed. Then allign the screen again.

Had this exact issue on my old Dell x5.

My HP 5455 is having the same problem. I've tried taking it apart and everything. i read that I might need a new screen.

You could try iPAQ Repair and Parts :: ipaq spare parts replacement battery HP pocket pc repairs ipaq screen repair Compaq spare batteries for a screen replacment.

Although there wouldnt be too much difference in price to get a new pda.

Plus its a better spec.

Let me know if you want to order anything.
