Unhappy MP3s on HP5500

Hi could someone tell me if there is a limit for loading mp3 files onto an sd card to play thro the pda?? Anymore than 10 tracks and they seem to get corrupted.Ihave to format the card and start again.Ihave tried loading files thro the pda or thro a card reader with the same results. This is using media player 9 or mort player with the same results.I have rewritten the card and played ok thro an mp3 player ok but would preffer to use the pda as you get track info. Can anyone help please or are pdas limited for playing mp3s?? Cheers

What is the total size of the MP3s, and the SD card being used?

One final thing is make of SD card, and speed if known. Did you format on a PC, or in the device? You should do this in the device.

One question. When this happens, if you browse your SD card on the device do you find other data isn't visible, or just the MP3s? And can you play/see them if you take the card straight out and look at on a PC?

Hi Getsurfers, Have tried 2 cards both Kingston 1 of which is a fast card I think @ 50x the other is a standard card with no speed on.I think I have tried formatting in the device I think by using add/remove programmes?? But have also formatted and re-written using a card reader/writer with the same results. At the time I have not had any other data on the card other than mp3s and so dont know the answer to that one.Once the cards have been written I have played them ok on the pc and then tried again after and still see the same corrupted(?) files. Many Thanks Again

If the PDA says they are corrupt, yet (without formatting) putting them staright into a PC they work fine then either:

You have a a fault with you PDA SD port
Or
Don't have the correct codecs on the PDA to support the content type.
Or
Have insufficient RAM available on the PDA to allow playback. Try ripping at a lower rate/quality and trying again.

Many Thanks for your help Getsurfers, Have compiled the sd card using Musicmatch and written the card directly thro the pda with success at last.SD cards dont seem to be compatable if written with a card reader/writer or even another mp3 player which seems a bit strange? Thanks Again Regards
