Default Connecting IPAQ2210 to Hotspot

I don't have wireless at home but bought a network card for my HP 2210 to connect to hotspots when out and about. The card installed OK identifies networks and allows me to associate with eg The Cloud and BT OpenZone. However when I click on Internet explorer, instead of connecting to the home page for log-in it it reports page not available, check your associaton, IP and security settings.

I similarly get no data when I open the in box (although that works OK under Active Sync in the home environment). I have tried the network card helpline and HP on-line help but to no avail. Can anyone help please?

The issue will be that the PDA cannot determine the settings for the wireless card.

Install ay supplied software on the PDA, and follow the card's manufacturer instructions for setting up the PDA.

Hi - deleted the card software and reinstalled the latest drivers. Unfortunately it is the same result. When I find a hotspot it detects it and having connected to it using Pocket WinC I have a connectionto it as shown by the solid green icon on PocketWinc The SDLAN Utility supplied by the card manufacturer shows an IP address and signal strength and quality. However, when I try Internet Explorer I get the message that I need to check my IP, association and security settings. It is set up to operate without a WEP and to get its IP address from the server. I cannot think what else to do as I am using the latest ROM from HP and the latest driver from the card manufacturer's website.

I could be wrong here but aren't "TheCloud" and "BT Open Zone" subscription services. Have you subscribed?

True, but non-subscribers should be directed to a log-in page.

The OP didn't even get that far, and instead got "page not found" suggesting a device setup error.
