Default how to remove redundant activesync names?

Occasionally Activesync goes belly up & I need to delete any partnerships on my pc & set up a new one. Each time I do this Activesync forces me to choose a new name for my pda & will not allow me to use the existing name. I haven't been able to find a way of deleting the old names from my pc in spite of lots of googling & am now up to iPaq9. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Open AS without your device connected.

On the first menu, file, delete mobile device - and delete all defunct partnerships.

Out of interest what error are you getting, device OS and AS version?

that's the problem - when I try to delete any old partnerships the way you suggested the only partnership listed is the most recent one. I'm running AS3.8 (not updating to v4 as no wifi AS) and PPC2003.
