PDA keeps performing hard reset

PDA keeps performing hard reset

I have an iPaq 2210. When I change my standard battery for an extended battery (which I do regularly when I go on long journeys and use CoPilot) my PDA performs a hard reset which means I have to reinstall all my programmes and setting each time.

Both batteries and my backup battery are showing full power in settings.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?
