Default Ipaq3850 and Excel problems

I have what to me, is a weird problem with Excel on my iPAQ.
If I enter or change any data in a spreadsheet on my iPAQ, I then seem unable to drag down any formulas. On top of that, if I then synchronise with my desktop and open the Excel folder, such icons as View Normal and Page Break Preview are greyed out, as are the icons for merge and centre, undo and redo etc. In addition, if I right click the mouse anywhere on the spreadsheet, a new command and icon appear at the bottom called Run. Is that a macro? I've tried restoring without success. Also, I replaced the files on the iPAQ but the problem reappeared as soon as I entered data. I've also clicked on Run, but all that came up was a macro with the title of the cell that I happened to be on.
Any ideas as to what I may have done to the settings on the Ipaq?
