Question H5550 freezes at splash screen & won't go further

I recently let my ipaq totally discharge and I had to bring it back to life by charging it for set periods of time (out of the cradle) and performing a hard reset... So it was back to original factory settings.

I started by installing firmware updates from the HP site. I was going through the ones that were outstanding and I think I was adding drivers for a keyboard when the ipaq required a soft reset. Since then it only shows the white and blue splash screen with the blue progress bar. The bar goes to the 100%, but won't go any further. The only way I can get rid of this screen is a soft/hard reset (which makes the same thing happen again), or taking the battery out.

When I place the PDA in the cradle, or connect to the mains, the power light doesn't even flash... However, I know the battery is working as the PDA goes through the start-up screen every time.

Does anyone know any tricks to get me back to a usable PDA?

Thanks for the detail... At least if i get it repaired I won't be wondering if there was something I could do myself.

Thanks again
