Too slow !

I've recently got a new PDA, a hp ipaq 2190.
2 problems
1. word is not working anymore. it still opens word documents but does not allow me to open a blank document

2. i bought a 2GB viking SD card last week. i don't know if its that but everything has become much slower and the screen tends to freeze for upto 10 seconds.
