SD Problem 2190

I've had a 2190 for just over 1 year (out of warranty) and it "wakes up" if I put a SD card in but when I click on Memory and memory card it says "Not Installed"

I've tried a number of cards in the slot with the same result.
I've also checked the same cards in differet devices and they work fine.

Anyone know a way around this?

If I us SD cards with an adapter inthe CF slot or switch to CF cards would it still run satnav software ok?
