Question IPAQ 5935 travel companion Sinc problem!

Hi, I have just installed Vista (wished i hadn't) Also upgraded to WMDC, as instructed. Followed installation instructions by the letter.
In control panel, when i plug in, i get USB Sinc identified OK but listed in "Mobile devices" windows mobile device is not installed properly. I have tried disabling Firewall disabling AVG all the normal things, with no joy. Im now thinking of going back to XP, but any one got any ideas before i do this.
Thanks in advance
John

Default

try
start>settings>connections>activesyncmode> then try both of the button settings - I had this problem and I run XP
you may need to look at port settings - not an expert here, but my son & I opened several ports and it seems to have made it more tolerable
also I have "time out" problem with mobile phone sync in similar way, it might be the file transfer program that is giving problems. If all you are doing is transferring files like pics and video, it might be worth just getting a card reader for your PC
