When your in messaging under your emails section. If you press menu then tools you have an option for clear. There is also empty deleted items have tried either of these?
Another option might be to delete the account and then create it again. To delete the account press menu then tools then options. You can tap and hold the one you want to delete just make sure you have a note of all the setting for creating it again.

There is an unread text message sitting under Outlook E-mail: for some bizarre reason and I cant delete it or open it. When I wipe out the Outlook e-mails - it still leaves this stray message in here.
