iPAQ h5555

ok, here's the situation...a few months ago a former coworker tried to upgrade the firmware on his iPAQ h5555, well it locked up about halfway and now it won't boot all the way. i've tried both hard and soft resets, but that didn't do anything. since it won't boot all the way, i can't get it to connect to my pc. any help you might be able to provide would be awesome.
