Default Problems upgrading a new iPaq 314

I have just bought an iPaq 314 from www.totalpda.co.uk and am having problems upgrading to the latest firmware. I have installed the HP Content Manager program and selected to update the application software. The download is about 346MB but seems to be downloading at less than 10kB/s and sometimes it just hangs and the upgrade needs restarting. I tried leaving it overnight but it hung at some point and I have had to retry several times today. At this rate it is going to take a couple of days to install the update.

In the mean time my iPaq 314 has started behaving strangely - it can take a minute for a button press to be recognised - it was fine before I started to try and update it. Maybe some of the files have been partially applied?

Has anyone else successfully updated their 314 and what download speeds did you get?

- Simon.

Default Trouble updating

Hi Simon
I too have just recived my shiny new 314 from www.totalpda.co.uk a brilliant service.

I could not even register on the site this morning.
Raised a support ticket. Got a reply.
HP will not have it sorted out until next week. They have said I will have a working log on by end of play on Monday.

So I can't even try and get the upgrade.
I think a lot of people are having problems with the website.

regards Tim.

Default Content Manager update is broken

I have given up after four days of trying to update the firmware in the iPaq 314 to the current version. I managed to update a couple of smaller POI files but the main application update is 350MB and after a few hours it has only managed a fraction of it and then it hangs and when I cancel it starts from the beginning again!!!

I raised a ticket with HP about the download speed and they just said they would escalate the problem - no resolution given.
